Prof. Bonnie Danqing Zhu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Her research specializes in protein engineering, materials chemistry, and computational biology, with a focus on developing targeted molecular medicines for neuroimmune modulation, which hold promising applications in treating neurological disorders.

She earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Stanford University, where she worked with Prof. Fan Yang and Prof. Sarah Heilshorn to develop novel biomaterials and in vitro models for tissue regeneration. Following her doctoral studies, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Prof. David Schaffer at the University of California, Berkeley, where she worked on machine-learning-guided design of viral vectors for therapeutic applications.
