Responsibilities A Research Assistant position is available within the Hong Kong Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases at the Hong Kong Science Park. The appointee will join a team dedicated to generate a comprehensive human tissue-based biobank, ensuring that all procedures adhere to internationally accepted standards. Duties Quality control of human tissues Maintain a quality-assured biobank Organize and cryopreserve processed samples in liquid nitrogen tanks Facility maintenance including general upkeep, i.e. ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, and excellent record keeping Running phenotyping assays, including but not limited to: immunocytochemistry, imaging, western blot, RT-qPCR Involved in project specific tasks Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/Neurobiology or related field Experience with biobank and cell culture preferred Past research experience in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, or neuroscience at undergraduate level or beyond is preferred Self-motivated, detail-oriented, team-oriented Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills Work over the weekend on rotation when needed Salary and Benefits A highly competitive salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience in addition to medical and dental benefits as well as annual leave.
